Data for Dry Live Fuels Increase the Likelihood of Lightning-Caused Fires

This repository has the scripts and data required to reproduce the analysis for the manuscript "Dry Live Fuels Increase the Likelihood of Lightning-Caused Fires" in Geophysical Research Letters. 

  1. plots.py has the python script to recreate the charts
    1. It accepts the three csvs as input: `matched_22_apr_2022_extreme_forest.csv`, `matched_22_apr_2022_extreme_grass.csv`, `matched_22_apr_2022_extreme_shrub.csv`
    2. The above three csvs contain paired lightning strikes for the respective land covers
  2. `lightnings_22_feb_2022_2016_2021_California.csv` contains a super set of lightning strikes (approximately 40,000). Our analysis uses only a subset of these lightning strikes (approximately 12,000). Precise figures available in our manuscript.
