PROGRESS AND RESULTS OF STOLYPIN AGRARIAN REFORM IN RUSSIA ON THE EXAMPLE OF VORONEZH PROVINCE

Description

This article examines the implementation of the Stolypin agrarian reform in Russia by the example of the Voronezh Province. Particular attention is paid to the factors hindering the success of the reform. The authors come to the conclusion that the agrarian reform was necessary and expedient, but it was conceived and carried out for the benefit of landlords and small layer of well-to-do peasants. In Voronezh province, the bulk of the peasants who had left the community suffered from little land, a shortage of working cattle and implements. They did not receive proper support from the authorities at all levels and their situation did not improve.
