Description

Abstract

The Malayalam community is made up of various ethnic groups. This applies to all linguistic communities. Each ethnic group has its own culture, customs and traditions. These cultural traditions include rituals and ceremonies. These cultural elements are constantly being constructed among their ethnic groups over time. Ways of life, warfare, importance given to women, worship, rituals, ceremonies, food habits and customs are considered as cultural traditions of ethnic groups. This review article talks about caste politics in the Malayalam movie 'Vedikettu' in order to see what kind of changes are planted in people's minds when the incidents between two different ethnic groups are reached through films. The Malayalam film world has a good reputation among the fans for making movies that are close to reality. The movie 'Vediketu' has also been made on this concept. The caste code tells us which communities live in those towns. It is easy to know that upper castes live in Manjapara and lower castes live in Karunkota. The Malayalam word 'Vediketu' means 'heavenly fun' in Tamil. This subject does not seem to suit the plot of the film. The reason is that if we divide this word into two, the Malayalam word 'Ketu' has the meaning of marriage. Caste has been championed with a strong story and the way it is conveyed.
