Description
Environmental management and sustainability have become increasingly important topics worldwide due to the growing concern about the environmental impact of human activities. Objective: to analyze the scientific trend on environmental management and sustainability by means of a bibliometric mapping. Methods: The data were obtained from the specialized database Scopus© Elsevier B.V. through the search algorithm (["environmental management" OR "environmental governance" OR "sustainable management"] AND ["sustainable" OR " environmental sustainability" OR "sustainability"] covering the years 2018 to 2022; with which the construction of strategic diagrams was executed using the VOSviewer software. Results: During the analysis period, Scopus© yielded a total of 4,219 publications focused on the subject. Likewise, the review showed that the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the leading institution with 67 publications as well as indicating that China is the leading country with a production of 654 published documents; the main author on the subject is Zhang X with 17 publications while the Journal of Cleaner Production is the journal with the largest number of studies on the subject. Conclusions: with the bibliometric analysis it could be evidenced that environmental management and sustainability are currently studied topics, showing the relevance they have in the economic development worldwide, which means an increase in corporate responsibility in the conservation of the environment and the environmental services they provide.
