Description

Esthesioneuroblastoma, also known as olfactory neuroblatoma, is a primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the upper nasal cavity that it is thought to arise from the olfactory epithelium. Classically, it exhibits locally aggressive behavior accounting for 3% of intranasal neoplasms, however it can present with a wide variety of clinical behavior. The most frequent sites of initial presentation are the upper aspect of the nasal cavity (ethmoidal area), followed by the maxillary sinus, nasopharynx, and the pituitary area.
