Description

Presentation for Europlanet Research Infrastructure Meeting (ERIM) 2023 -

GMAP Workshop 1

 Thu Jun 22, 2023

 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

In this project, the morphology, stratigraphy, topography, and mineralogy of Sera and Jiji were analyzed at different resolutions in order to edit a geological map of three craters in central Arabia Terra, Mars. This case study is an attempt to identify good practices in planetary mapping.

Datasets used for this project are provided by the CTX camera (6 m/pixel) (Malin et al., 2007), the HiRISE camera (25 cm/pixel) (McEwen et al., 2007), the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) (Neukum & Jaumann, 2004), the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA; Smith et al., 2001), the Mars Odyssey (ODY) Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) daytime and night-time infrared (IR) images (100 m/pixel; Christensen et al., 2004).
