Description
This is the first version of the Deliverable "D6.1 - Preliminary IP report", for the MAPWORMS project. This report provides an overview of both the pH-reactive and magnetic soft robotic actuation principles investigated in the first 12 project months, along with their potential use cases and a corresponding preliminary patent search. 2000 patents were viewed, based on 20 distinct search keywords. 73 relevant patents were identified, 11 of which were deemed directly relevant and potentially limiting based on
their claims. Additionally, 22 CPC categories were derived from the initial list to facilitate further search.
These results provide a starting point for a more in-depth patent search and analysis later in the project potentially involving other databases such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO) or the European Patent Office (EPO), along with Google Patents.
