Innovative Vectors of Preservation, Protection, and Promotion of the Ukrainian People's Intangible Cultural Heritage

The aim of the article is to provide a scientific basis for the unique experience of the Faculty of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Business of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts in the development and implementation of innovative vectors of preservation, protection, and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) of the Ukrainian people within the framework of the organisation and holding of the annual International Scientific and Practical Conference- Festival Intangible Cultural Heritage as a Modern Tourist Resource: Experience, Practices, Innovations. The research results are based on a systematic analysis of the six-year scientific and educational activities of the Conference-Festival participants and the justification of the uniqueness of the presented innovative experience in the national preservation, protection, and promotion of the Ukrainian people’s intangible cultural heritage through formal and informal education. The scientific novelty of the study consists in presenting the results of the activities of the scientific and educational cluster, which operates on a multicultural communication platform for the dissemination of knowledge through formal and informal education regarding the preservation, protection, and promotion of ICH by means of tourism and hospitality at the Conference-Festival; increasing students’ socio-cultural awareness of ICH, involving them in all-Ukrainian and international experience-sharing practices between stakeholders and bearers of a living tradition on the basis of sustainable development. Conclusions. Based on the experience gained, the Conference-Festival: was included in the events of the European Festivals Association EFFE AWARD Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe; received the right to use the EFFE label as an innovative scientific-educational, educational, interdisciplinary, historical-cultural, creative event with an international communication platform and, in general, implements a comprehensive scientific review of the current state of the intangible cultural heritage as a national tourist product that promotes unique traditions (customs, rites, celebrations) and cultural practices as masterpieces of the world and national heritage of the Ukrainian state.
