THE ROLE OF THE WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION (WTO) IN THE ECONOMY OF UZBEKISTAN: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES

The accession of Uzbekistan to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2022 has opened up new opportunities for the country to integrate into the global economy. This paper examines the role of the WTO in the economy of Uzbekistan, including the opportunities and challenges it presents. The paper begins with an overview of the Uzbek economy and its recent reforms. Next, it discusses the accession process of Uzbekistan to the WTO and the benefits it offers. The paper then examines the challenges that Uzbekistan faces in implementing WTO agreements, including institutional and regulatory issues. Finally, it explores the opportunities that WTO membership presents, such as increased trade, investment, and economic growth.
