Development means making a better life for everyone
Description
This article aims to connect Enlightenment philosophies to post-developmental critiques of development. As case studies, we will explore trajectories of major indicators for happiness (Gross National Happiness, Bhutan) and situate this within ‘beyond GDP’ discourse. To help us in our discussion, we will use Peet and Hartwick’s definition where 'development means making a better life for everyone'.
