PROGRAMUL NAȚIONAL LECTURACENTRAL: PROMOVAREA CĂRȚII ȘI LECTURII ÎN REPUBLICA MOLDOVA (Sinteze pe marginea ediției a 5-a, anul 2022)

The National LecturaCentral Program is centered on the phenomenon of reading with the aim of promoting the act of reading as a way of life for citizens in their daily activities. Libraries provide a diverse framework of activities through which communities can effectively use information resources to protect and improve the quality of life. The article reflects comparative statistical data regarding the involvement of territorial public libraries in the implementation of the National LecturaCentral Program (2021 – 2022),
reflected in the Online Monthly Reporting System (ORT): training and information activities, promoting reading, the number of participating/trained users, implications for Participatory Science, etc. The LecturaCentral program, initiated in 2018, is based
on the essential role of libraries as an integral part of the knowledge system, as a basis for information and lifelong learning.
