Description

The role of glutathione in metabolism, amounts of its general and reduced forms in blood of sportsmen have
been studied. 18 sportsmen (aged 18-24) at the stage of the preparation to compatitions took part in the
research. The total glutathione and concentrations of its reduced forms having anioxidant properties were
determined in the blood of the sportsmen before the experiments. Two metabolic complexes were used for
the correction of the glutathione in blood. The first complex contained amino acids formed by glutathione.
The precursors of creatine phosphate were involved in the second complex. Sportsmen used these complexes
during three weeks. The use of amino acids - glutathione precursors had more effect on the glutathione levels
in blood of the sporemen. It was found that one of the ways of the correction of the glutathione system state
was the use of sulfur - containing compounds, including thiol antioxidants.
