GROWTH OF SECTARIANISM AND RELIGIOUS PREFERENCES OF THE FARMERS OF THE VORONEZH PROVINCE IN THE MID-20-S OF THE XX CENTURY

The article examines the growth of sectarianism and religious preferences among the villagers of the Voronezh province in the first half of the 20-s of the XX century. Special emphasis is placed on the study of the religious preferences of Voronezh farmers. The authors analyzed the sources in order to establish the territorial prevalence of sectarianism in the Voronezh province and determine the numerical composition of the active sects and religious movements. In the course of studying the growth of sectarianism and religious preferences of Voronezh agrarians of the Voronezh province, a significant increase in the number of followers of sects in the Voronezh province was revealed and objective reasons for this phenomenon were established. The main source base of this research is archival documents from the funds of the "State Archive of Socio-Political History of the Voronezh Region".
