Religious Organizations as Subjects of Human Rights Protection in Ukraine

The article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the protection of human rights in Ukraine by religious organizations. Special attention is devoted to the analysis of the human rights activities of these institutions, aimed at preventing and stopping illegal influence on a person and his rights, the interaction of religious organizations and public administration bodies in the field of human rights protection. It was emphasized that the protection of the rights of members of religious organizations and other participants in religious relations in Ukraine should be based on a clear procedure and a system of effective regulations.

It was established that various types of religious organizations operate in Ukraine, including religious communities, administrations, centers, monasteries, religious brotherhoods, missionary societies (missions), spiritual educational institutions, as well as associations formed from these religious organizations. They conduct their human rights activities as collective subjects of law. Participation in them is voluntary, and activity in Ukraine has a polystructural nature and is based on the principles defined by current legislation and statutes (regulations).

It was emphasized that religious organizations are important subjects of the implementation of functions related to the prevention of offenses, the implementation of educational and educational influence on the public, assistance to subjects endowed with jurisdictional and control-supervisory powers in order to prevent illegal behavior and illegal influence on public relations in the state.

An analysis of the right to freedom of religion as a fundamental right in the system of religious human rights in Ukraine and the specifics of the implementation and protection of this right by religious organizations has been carried out.

It was found that the development of effective and clear mechanisms for the protection of religious human rights in Ukraine, the definition of clear procedures for the involvement of religious organizations in this, the updating of the normative definition of the forms and methods of interaction between public administration bodies and religious organizations in the field of prevention and cessation of illegal activities, which violates the religious rights of people in our country.
