  • 1. Výzkumný ústav pro hnědé uhlí a.s.

Description

The Brown Coal Research Institute has long term cooperation with the Severočeské doly a.s. (North Bohemian Mines) in the field of restoration problems. The target of this cooperation was mainly necessity of the application of the fertilizable soils. At present, the main problems appear to be the extreme alkaline soil reaction of any locality soils, the occurrence of phytotoxic and sterile areas and the methodology of setting up areas left to natural succession. The attention is also devoted to the loss of seedlings caused by dry periods. The article deals with the methodology of the survey, with the localisation of different individual types of areas, characterization of differences between Bílina mine and Nástup Tušimice mine areas and the optimal methodology for the restoration
of the areas of interest.
