  • 1. Museum of Byzantine Culture, Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, Greece

Description

The archaeomalacological dataset (reporting each sample separately) was produced using primary archaeomalacological material recovered during the ‘Palaikastro Phase 4. Urbanization in Bronze Age Crete: Between Palace and Landscape at Palaikastro’ (PALAP) project (2012-2016), which focused on excavations of part of the Bronze Age town at Roussolakkos, Palaikastro, Greece, as well as landscape research in its surrounding territory.

Notes

The PALAP project was funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Grant on 'Urbanization in Bronze Age Crete: between palace and landscape at Palaikastro' (2014-16), The Institute for Aegean Prehistory (INSTAP), the Hal Jackman Foundation and the British School at Athens, while the Universities of Toronto (Canada), Bristol and Nottingham (UK) also fully supported and financed parts of the project. The archaeomalacological study was also partly financed by a private donor, Mr Anuj Malhotra.
