QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF WORK ACCORDING TO THE PERCEPTIONS OF UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS

It is a factor of worldwide recognition that the work environment can influence the quality of life and health of all people. And the university professor in the development of his functions is exposed to different conditions which can compromise his perception of quality of life. In this perspective, the research objective is to investigate the quality of life perceived by university professors on four dimensions: mental health; Physical health; social relationships; environmental relationships. This is a mixed research (qualitative-quantitative), exploratory in nature, with a descriptive design and a comparative approach. The results found suggest that teachers have a quality of life understood by themselves as satisfactory, however, data related to mental health demonstrate teaching vulnerability when it is found that 40% of the participants have some mental illness in isolation or in association, as well as the presentation of signs that demonstrate the physical and mental exhaustion in the development of the profession.
