Description

Presentation and Supplementary slides discussing the wide ranging research findings from Paul R Price's two-year carbon budgeting fellowship (2021–2023) at Dublin City University, as funded through the Climate Change Advisory Council by EPA Ireland for the Government of Ireland.

The four research work packages covered topics related to setting and meeting carbon budgets, testing scenarios relative to the agreed climate objectives, and looking at land use and business in relation to meeting Ireland’s national carbon budgets.

Even for only a 50:50 chance of limiting 1.5ºC, achieving the goal, even on only a “minimally equitable” basis, is now extremely difficult for any developed nation unless all mitigation levers are now employed immediately to the maximum extent possible.
