Conceptual and methodological approaches to the formation of ecological networks
- 1. Donetsk Botanical Garden
Description
The monograph is devoted to the methodical and methodological aspects of a regional ecological network development, illustrated by the example of administrative parts of the Donbass territory. The study emphasizes the importance of unified territorial-hierarchical principle of the ecological networks organization in the general system series as follows: national (state) – regional – subregional – locality (district, city) – local levels of its organization. The work shows the principal importance of a regional level of ecological network organization as a basic structure, grounded on uniform principles and approaches in its formation within the relatively homogeneous physical-geographical and socio-economic space of the territory. New original methods of assessing the structural parts of ecological network at the locality and local levels are presented, based on a comparative analysis of functional elements by topographic parameters and phytodiversity, as well as their migration potential. A unified approach is formulated in assessing the structure of the local level of ecological network, based on a single cartographic and cadastral documentation, a general expert evaluation of its structural elements, which lays the foundation for the formation of ecological networks of a higher organization level.
Specialists in the field of ecology, biology, natural resource management, as well as teachers, graduate students, students and a wide range of nature lovers are the intended audience for this monograph.
