Ethical Guidelines on Incentivizing and Fairly Rewarding Citizens Engaged in Open Innovation Pathways

  • 1. Fondazione Giannino Bassetti

Description

In innovation contexts, where the final aim is to reach the market with new products, services, and processes for profit, how can we ensure that citizens’ contributions to co-creation approaches can be adequately recognised and rewarded? What kind of options and mechanisms can innovation ecosystems adopt to incentivise citizen-led innovation for “societal alignment” (Kuzma et al., 2018)
but also guarantee fair and transparent compensation for those who participate in the design or refinement of new marketable products?

The focus of this deliverable is thus a multi-step approach to create ethical guidelines to be used as a reference during the implementation of open innovation programmes.
