Genus Banareia A. Milne-Edwards, 1869
Type species. Banareia armata A. Milne-Edwards, 1869 [Type locality: New Caledonia].
Remarks. Banareia encompass 16 species (Ng et al. 2008), among which only one is known from the Atlantic Ocean (see below).
