The subject of the study is competition and competitiveness in the labor market as factors in the formation of the labor potential of agricultural enterprises.
The purpose of the study is to generalize the impact of competition in the labor market on the
formation of the labor potential of agricultural enterprises.
Research methods. The work uses the dialectical method of scientific knowledge, the method of
analysis and synthesis, the comparative method, and the method of summarizing data.
Work results. The paper provides an interpretation of the term «competition». The main elements
of the labor market and competition are defined. The influence of the level of competition in the labor
market on the formation of the labor potential of agricultural enterprises is outlined. The peculiarities
of the labor market and the competitiveness of its subjects are considered.
Conclusions. The formation of the labor potential of agricultural enterprises is closely related to
the level of competition in the agricultural labor market, which is one of the highest compared to other
segments of the labor market. In the short term, a high level of competition in the agricultural labor
market contributes to increasing the employment of agricultural enterprises. The decrease in the
labor potential of agricultural enterprises in recent years is caused primarily by the uncompetitiveness
of rural employers who, due to the low level of wages of potential employees, cannot successfully
compete on the labor market with employers in other branches of the national economy. The situation
on the labor market is characterized, on the one hand, by the minimum wage level and a certain number
of workers who agree to work in agriculture for such a wage, and on the other hand by the maximum
wage that agricultural employers can offer and for which the appropriate number can be employed in
agriculture employees Increasing the efficiency of agricultural production and its profitability is possible
thanks to state support of the industry. This will ensure the growth of opportunities of agricultural
enterprises in the formation of higher wages. Accordingly, opportunities for forming the labor potential
of the industry will increase.
