Description

Citizen Science as a part of Open Science ensures the range of options for libraries and other memory institutions (museums, archives) to widen their scope and strengthen their role in support of research and society. The report includes the results of the research done with the participation of memory institution specialists, professional researchers, citizen scientists, and volunteers from all Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania). Surveying done during the research helped to determine the overall understanding of respondents about the research activities and projects with civic engagement, and find out their opinion and experience regarding the collaboration in Citizen Science projects and in research activities among specialists of memory institutions, researchers, and citizen scientists. The report includes research data analyzed and interpreted mostly by focusing on the role of memory institutions and their potential in science, as well as by acknowledging and formulating the needs for progress.
