As access to water resources becomes limited in many regions of the world, efficient and sustainable irrigation becomes more important. It's all about supplying enough moisture for maximum yield without using excess water and energy than is absolutely necessary. Pumping water for irrigation can be a significant expense for irrigated land. Improving the efficiency of the pumping station is today a very urgent problem also because it increases the profitability of irrigated lands. The article discusses the possibility of reducing the energy consumption of the pumping unit through the use of methods for controlling the operation of an electric drive. The material for the article is the results of calculations to improve the efficiency of the Hamza I pumping station, which is part of the Amu Bukhara Machine Channel (ABMK) system.
