The article is devoted to the socio-psychological factors of the formation of independent thinking and creativity among students, it includes interactive teaching methods that activate the activity of students and stimulate independent thinking, as well as behavioral and cognitive approaches in the educational process. The unique aspects of the formation of independent and creative thinking of students are analyzed. The article also highlights the process of educating independent thinking and its psychological mechanisms and the role of new generation textbooks in educating independent thinking and a creative personality.
