Description
More than a hundred different photometric systems are currently in use. Many of these systems have been developed for specific purposes. Some of them have a wide bandwidth (30 nm or wider) and some are narrow enough to measure certain spectral lines. We will discuss one of the most widely used systems, the Johnson-Cousins UBVRI system.
