A competent approach to the educational process, as the main idea of the New Ukrainian School, does not lose its relevance in the conditions of the modern educational space. Geography is a complex science that includes the study of natural and social objects, and processes of interaction between man and nature, in geography lessons, students primarily acquire natural and socio-economic competence, but the war creates new challenges, in particular, the acquisition of national-patriotic competence becomes paramount for the new generation. The article analyzes curricula for institutions of general secondary education in geography and provides methodological recommendations for forming national-patriotic competence during geography lessons.
