Development of Japanese wax scale (Ceroplastes japonicus Green, 1921) (Hemiptera: Coccidae) on pomegranate

Description

The article presents the results of the research on waxed japanese wax scale, bio ecological features and economic significance of major pomegranate pests. It is noted that this pest has a sexual dimorphism, and that Chilocorus renipustulatus Scriba, Chilocorus bipustulatus L. predators though minor, but play a role in its biological control. Introduction of Scutellista cyanea and Microterys clauseni species, which are an effective entomophage of pests, to the republic are considered reasonable.
