LEXICAL EXPRESSION OF GENDER IN ENGLISH

Description
This article is dedicated to "gender linguistics" from the new directions of linguistics. The article reveals the difference between the concept of "gender" and the concept of "sex". The lexical representation of gender in the language is analyzed on the example of the English language and its specific features are shown. Gender relations exist in the language in the form of culturally conditioned stereotypes, which leave traces in the process of verbalization depending on the gender identity of the person and the process of his linguistic socialization. In the following decades, linguistics developed rapidly with new approaches to the study of linguistic phenomena based on anthropocentrism, as noted above. Among such approaches of linguistics, studies on "gender" occupy an important place.
