Exploring the Internationalisation and localisation for Open Science through the Turing Way Hands-on Workshop
Description
This workshop aim to prompt attendees to reflect on specific concerns and practices that impact open science such as monolingualism. It will reflect on these concerns and explore what does it mean to localise science within your group or team? The Turing Way Community acknowledges that making science open requires diverse, multilingual, and locally relevant research accessible to a wide audience. Therefore, it has introduced a localisation workflow to localise its content to various languages, including Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin and Turkish. In this workshop, you will be introduced to how to get involved in the localisation team, share the translation memory or re-use the workflow for your own project.
