THE PROBLEM OF COMPARATIVE STUDY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN LINGUISTIC AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS

This article deals with the issues of comparative study of foreign languages. It also gives the definition of contrastive linguistics and contrastive analysis used in modern technology of teaching a foreign language. Moreover, the problems of native language interference and their influence on foreign language learning in general are described.
