Sobre a Utilização de uma Inversão Numérica para a Determinação da Pressão em um Reservatório Compartimentado de Óleo

Description

Oil reservoirs are underground rock formations that store hydrocarbons before
production begins. In general, reservoirs are heterogeneous. This fact, among others,
makes it difficult to obtain analytical solutions to the partial differential equations that
govern the flow in the reservoir. However, in some cases, there are analytical solutions
even for heterogeneous porous media, such as compartmentalized reservoirs. In these
structures, there are bounded regions with different rock properties, such as absolute permeability.
In this work, we implemented one of these solutions, following the developments
of Carter (1966) [7], using Laplace transform and applying other types of approximations
for modified Bessel functions. We also used the Stehfest algorithm to obtain the solution
in the time domain, and we performed a sensitivity analysis changing different parameters
and properties associated with the flow and the geometry of the compartmentalized
reservoir.
