Barbastella barbastellus

Description

Barbastella barbastellus (Schreber, 1774). Die Säugethiere, 1:168.

TYPE LOCALITY: France, Burgundy.

DISTRIBUTION: England and W Europe to Caucasus; Turkey; Crimea (Ukraine); Morocco; larger Mediterranean islands; Canary Isis; perhaps Senegal.

SYNONYMS: communis, daubentonii.

COMMENTS: Does not include leucomelas, but see Qumsiyeh (1985).
