TYPE LOCALITY: Argentina, Rio Negro Prov., Bariloche Dept., Estacion Aforo, Rio Manso Superior.
DISTRIBUTION: Andes of Rio Negro Prov., Argentina.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Abrothrix. Reig (1987) questioned the subgeneric assignment as well as the validity of this form.
