Hydrodamalis gigas (Zimmermann, 1780). Geogr. Gesch. Mensch. Vierf. Thiere, 2:426.

TYPE LOCALITY: Bering Sea, Commander Isis, Bering Isl.

DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the Commander Islands, Bering Sea.

STATUS: IUCN - Extinct.

SYNONYMS: balaenurus, borealis, stelleri.

COMMENTS: See Forsten and Youngman (1982, Mammalian Species, 165).
