Description

Berardius bairdii Stejneger, 1883. Proc. U.S. Nat. Mus., 6:75.

TYPE LOCALITY: U.S. S. R., Commander Isis., Bering Isl., Stare Gavan.

DISTRIBUTION: North Pacific, temperate to subarctic waters.

COMMENT: Possibly a subspecies of arnuxii; see Davies, 1963, and McLachlan et al., 1966 Ann. Cape Prov. Mus., 5:91 -109.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Order Cetacea.
