Description

Stenella coeruleoalba (Meyen, 1833). Nova Acta Acad. Caes. Nat. Curios., 16(2): 609 -610.

TYPE LOCALITY: South Atlantic Ocean near Rio de la Plata (off coast of Argentina and Uruguay).

DISTRIBUTION: Temperate and tropical waters of the world.

COMMENT: Includes styx and euphrosyne; see Mitchell, 1970, Can. J. Zool., 48:720.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Order Cetacea.

ISIS NUMBER: 5301411002013001001 as S. caeruleoalbas (sic).
