COMMENT: Formerly included in Lagenorhynchus; see Rice, 1977. JGM and RLB consider Peponocephala a subgenus of Lagenorhynchus but DWR, MN, TK, and WFP do not.
PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Order Cetacea.
