Oryzomys galapagoensis

Description

Oryzomys galapagoensis (Waterhouse, 1839). Zool. Voy. H.M.S. "Beagle," Mammalia, p. 66.

TYPE LOCALITY: Galapagos Isis., Chatham Isl. (= San Cristobal) (Ecuador).

DISTRIBUTION: San Cristobal Isl. (Galapagos Isis.).

COMMENT: Closely related to bauri; subgenus Oryzomys; see Gardner and Patton, 1976, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. La. St. Univ., 49:16. O. galapagoensis is a synonym of bauri (ALG). Probably extinct; see Corbet and Hill, 1980:143.
