TYPE LOCALITY: Juan Fernandez Isl., Robinson Crusoe Isl. (Chile).
DISTRIBUTION: Juan Fernandez Isis.
COMMENT: Formerly included in Arctophoca; see Repenning et al., 1971, Antarct. Res. Ser., 18:1 -34.
PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Arctocephalus spp.
