Spermophilus parryii

Description

Spermophilus parryii (Richardson, 1825). In Parry, 1825 (1827), appendix to Parry's J. of Second Voy., p. 316.

TYPE LOCALITY: Canada, Hudson Bay, Melville Peninsula, Lyon Inlet, Five Hawser Bay.

DISTRIBUTION: N.W. Canada; Alaska (U.S.A.); N. E. Yakutia, Anadyrsk. Krai, and Chukotka (U.S. S. R.).

COMMENT: Subgenus Urocitellus; see Gromov et al., 1965:184. Hall, 1981:381, included Urocitellus in subgenus Spermophilus. Regarded by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:511, and Hall and Kelson, 1959:343, as a synonym of undulatus. Gromov et al., 1965: 184, and Nadler et al., 1974, Comp. Biochem.
