NETWORK SECURITY AND PRIVACY

Secure network has now become a necessity for any organization. Security threats are increasing day by day making high speed wired/wireless networks and internet services unsafe and unreliable. Nowadays security measures work more importantly towards meeting the cutting edge demands of today's growing industries. The need is also fuelled in sectors such as defence, where secure and certified access to resources are key issues related to information security. In this paper, the author has described important measures and standards with respect to large industry/organizational requirements for setting up a secure network. Wi-Fi networks are very common in providing wireless network access to various resources and connecting different devices wirelessly. Different requirements are needed to handle Wi-Fi threats and network hacking attempts. This paper explores the important security measures related to various network scenarios, in order to establish a completely secure network environment in an organization. The author also discusses a case study to illustrate the minimum set of measures required to establish network security in any organization.
