Features of Housing Interior Design According to Personality Meta-Programmes

  • 1. Ukrainian National Forestry University, Lviv, Ukraine

Description

The purpose of the article is to study and identify modern effective approaches for establishing harmonious relationships between a person and his living space in the context of new methods of cognitive ergonomics and psychology, where mutual influence would be based on the principle of mutual development. Methods. The issue has been examined in the context of the use of neuro-linguistic programming tools, from the point of view of which the study of the experience of individual interaction with the spatial environment is of particular practical interest. Along with general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, and generalisation, the authors of the article apply interdisciplinary and systematic analysis, which makes it possible to use knowledge and methods of various disciplines to achieve the main objective. Results. The findings indicate that the perfect solution of individual requests in the design of a personal environment project is possible only after a detailed study of a person’s psychological type. One approach to solving this problem is neuro-linguistic programming methods using a person’s leading meta-programmes. The article highlights the concept of meta-programmes as well as provides their classification and description to reveal subconscious mutual influences of a person and the environment. The ways of studying the psychological type of personality by four meta-programme groups are summarised: values, the scale of generalisation, time perception, and similarities/differences. At the same time, among the meta-programmes of value, five groups of generalised value priorities are considered as the most significant. Scientific novelty. The article highlights the current state of psychological research in interior design and considers a new approach to taking into account the psychological characteristics of a person when designing a living environment. The advantages and disadvantages of using neuro-linguistic programming tools to solve the issue are analysed. The article provides recommendations on the features of the interior and furniture design, depending on the psychological type of a person.
