MOTIVATION AND ITS ROLE IN THE PROCESS OF EFFECTIVE LEARNING OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Creators

Description

The relationship between foreign language proficiency and motivation has been studied by both domestic and foreign scientists. Studies have shown that it is motivation that makes it easy and effective to learn foreign languages. This article discusses the importance of motivation in the process of teaching a foreign language at school and the factors influencing it. The higher the internal and external motivation of the student, the easier it will be for him to overcome the language barrier. Thus, increasing students' motivation to learn a language before class is critical, and as Dorney (1998) argues, this motivation helps students move forward like a motor makes a car move. This, in turn, requires a foreign language teacher to have a motivational approach to each lesson, taking into account the age, interests, level and abilities of the student.
