Connotation Description of Terms and Corresponding Automatic Method

The interoperability problem between knowledge organization systems has become more critical because of the complication and reuse of KOS. Enlightened by dictionary complication and the characteristics of Chinese language, we use connotation description instead of relationships between items in KOS. We use the conceptual primitives and related instance base of Hierarchical Network of Concepts (HNC) theory and develop both semi-automatic and full-automatic methods for different applications. It is an exploration and should be realized and revised in the future.
