Description

Accounting is an activity that has existed for thousands of years and that over time has been developing along with changes in society. The role of women is something that has also undergone several changes throughout history, and today they are in all areas of the job market. This article aimed to evaluate how women are inserted in accounting in the cities of Bandeirantes and Cornélio Procópio and if they find it difficult to work in the area because they are female. For the development, bibliographic references were used, and a questionnaire was applied in these cities about behaviors and situations. Currently, women have already achieved several achievements, studying, voting, working in the field they prefer, among others, but there is still inequality and discrimination to overcome. In spite of that, the result of the research showed that in the cities of Bandeirantes and Cornélio Procópio what matters is the competence of the person and not the sex, most of the interviewees say they do not suffer sexual discrimination in their workplaces, they do not observe large salary differences with their male colleagues and are satisfied with the recognition and appreciation they have.
