The article focuses on specifying the role of self-knowledge in the personal development of student teachers in the context of societal challenges, as well as on establishing and explaining the theoretical and methodological aspects of optimizing
the process of self-knowledge in the context of personal development. In this context, the author explains the components of
student teachers’ self-knowledge; delimits the concepts of human, individual, and personality; specifies the factors of human/
personal development, correlating them with the essential coordinates of human development; analyzes the spheres and dimensions of the personal development of student teachers and specifies a number of practical strategies for self-knowledge in the
personal development of student teachers.
