Description

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have been used widely in the field of education nowadays. Particularly in the developed world, ICT tools are being exploited to the advantages of the students for enhancing their learning. ICTs have been useful for the learners to develop their habit of autonomous learner, to practice collaborative learning activities, and to construct their knowledge by exposing them to a wide variety of learning resources in teaching and learning of English as a foreign language.  In the developing world, however, many of the stakeholders in the field of English education are unknown to ICTs, and they have little or no cognizance about pedagogical and productive utilization of the ICT tools. In this regard, this article makes an attempt to introduce ICTs, and discuss the uses of various ICT resources in the teaching and learning of the English language using existing resources adopting systematic literature review and evidence-based approach.
