FAB! Das Forschungsspiel zu Ausbildung und Beruf / FAB! The Research Game on Education and Employment

FAB! Das Forschungsspiel zu Ausbildung und Beruf (translatable to: FAB! The Research Game on Education and Employment) is a publication associated with the R&I Action #2 Youth Employment of the research project CoAct (Co-designing Citizen Social Science for Collective Action), that received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement Nº 873048.

FAB! is a board game that uses elements of social science research methods as well as results from education and work research. The game is published under a CC BY-NC 4.0 licence and takes up the topics most relevant to the young people who participated as co-researchers in the R&I Action #2 research project. These topics included expectations posed on young people when searching for apprenticeships and education, mental health, and discrimination—especially racism—as important issues in young people’s educational careers and life-worlds. The game aims to enhance skills relevant for doing social science research and furthermore reduces the barrier between science and young citizens who are not usually actively involved in research activities.
