NEUTRALITATEA REPUBLICII MOLDOVA ÎN CONTEXTUL SECURITĂȚII STATULUI
Description
After declaring its independence in 1991, Republic of Moldova faced several challenges to its national security, the most serious of which were the conflict with the separatist region of Transnistria and the deployment of Russia's armed forces on Moldovan territory. Under these conditions, Moldova has chosen permanent neutrality as its security strategy, ignoring the fact that the country does not meet the requirements for a neutral country. The neutrality strategy, adopted hastily, did not help to minimize the threats to the national security of the Republic of Moldova. Moreover, neutrality has been an obstacle for the state to choose a more appropriate and balanced security strategy. This article targets the peculiarities of the neutrality of the Republic of Moldova and the key issues of the state security strategy.
